I Know It Sounds Funny, But I Just Can't Stand The Pain

I used to be easy like Sunday mornings, but I've assumed the all-important "take us into the weekend" slot. Also, I have a few comments to make. It's funny when I go back to blogs that we've reviewed (and I'm specifically talking about blogs that have also been reviewed...elsewhere) and find that the authors are SHOCKED that they don't have to get crushed in a review. Perhaps our style is a breed apart from other review sites. Just saying.

In other news, I've been busier than a one-armed paperhanger lately. Work has been ridiculously busy. My social life has taken more than one weird turn. My unrequited love for...well, she knows who she is...has sort of consumed me lately.

But you're not here to read about me, so let's press on, shall we? Joe Cool's Blog is the turkey and stuffing on my dinner plate today. It's being viewed in Firefox at 1024 x 768. I can't really tell if this is a customized Blogger template or not, but the header is outstanding. I'm not a muscle car kinda dude by any stretch of the imagination, but the header is sweet. The template is plain white, with black text, making for easy reading. He doesn't have a profile page, but he does have an "About Me" that tells about as much as you'd need to know about Jose to get to know him.

In reading a few posts, he writes in a folksy manner, and apparently he just re-upped with his wife, so congratulations are in order. The content itself isn't bad, but ultimately, it's probably not something I'd come back to. That's not to say that it sucks or anything, it just doesn't draw me in.

He's got a decently organized sidebar, although again, if you're going to go get a kick-ass header graphic, get your archives and previous posts rolled up. He's got a counter, a bunch of buttons, Link buttons, a music player (although, thank goodness, it's not auto-play). It's organized clutter, the more I look at it. It could stand some better organization. That's the constructive criticism for this blog, ultimately.

I'm not going to kill the guy because the content isn't my cup of tea. There aren't many glaring gramatical errors, and he can spell for the most part, so that's worth . He also gets another for the header image.

I'm also giving him on his recent renewal of his vows. Good job, my man.

However, he's getting a big because the more I think about it, the more that sidebar bothers me. Clean that shit up, dude.

Have a lovely weekend, and if you're stopping by, submit. Clearly, it's NOT THAT painful.

  1. I like the template. It's sterile and white, but it suits his style. I hate mustangs for reasons I'll not go into, but to each their own.

The vow renewal post made me all teary. Now I must go get drunk and try to find a hubby. WOO!
