Have a Coke and a Smile

Well, I was kind of hoping for a shitty blog to review, because sometimes I just have to let out the nastiness, ya know? But alas, it is not to be today.

I had the pleasure of reading Sheila's blog, The Diet Coke Dilemma, and I'm not just saying that because I love Diet Coke, or the fact that she's a fucking saint for all that she has been through. Nope, this is just a great blog. The template is a bright white with a big ol' can of DC and the theme is peppered throughout the site, which may be annoying to some, but I actually think it's pretty cute. And I don't usually do cute. The side bar is organized, no ads, no blinkies, just plain ol' posts and pics.

As to the content, well, it's pretty standard stuff, bordering on boring and mundane, but she admits that in her profile and I have a feeling that most of her posts are to update family about her boyfriend's health problems and to just have an outlet. Plus, we can't all be exciting all the time, can we? Her posts are to the point and sometimes sweetly funny. I like her and I probably would hang out with her. The real gem of this blog, though, is her flickr site. I clicked around and I gots to say the girl has got some picture making skillz (yes I used a "z," that's how I roll).

I really wish I had something bad to say about this blog after two straight weeks of shitty blogs and the fact that I'm busier than shit at work and stressed out as all fuck, but I don't. Dammit.

So Sheila, I raise my third can of Diet Coke to you, Tom, and your blog and I give you a Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting for just being great.

  1. I wish I could ride the diet coke train, but unfortunately aspartamine causes you to not lose weight on account of it's molecular similarity to actual sugar.

Anyway! I do like her little blog, and I like the diet coke theme, it's cute as a buton. Not sure I'd read it daily, but if I'm going to shirk reading millions of patents for work, I'm going to do it for the blog of a total train wreck, so that's not necessarily a bad thing

  2. Thanks for the review. Y'all caught me on an overly boring week, opposed to mildly boring week. I promise there is some entertaining stuff in the archives. And thanks for the compliments on the photos... I like to think that I do alright with a camera. I appreciate your time!

I'm not sure whether to be flattered or pissed. ;)

About Diet Coke: Something about the relationship between these two is strange to me, and the posts are kind of dull. But that's just me.
