Nutsack

Taking a brief respite from this place is nice but it puts me out of touch sometimes. My schedule for shit is wacked the fuck out right now so I'm spread a little thin. After taking my evening conncoction of sleeping pills and alcohols it's nice to sit down with a good blog and hammer the stress away.

Yes, I said alcoholSSSS.


This last weeks victim is called Frued's Nuthouse.com. I heart websites :)

The template was a basic and easily readable Movable Type purple theme with a snappy header and an evil pussy... smiling. Funny, two purple blogs in a row and yet that's the least used color in the industry for web design/templates.

The purple didn't kill me. There was a dark/light contrast going on and I felt it balanced fairly well with her personality.
Not too femme but yet - obviously not boring.

As I was saying before, we don't see purple blogs too often - because that color in particular especially (the 'brides maid girls dress' lavender) reminds us of... Well... Brides maids - and we all hate bridesmaids... Right?

Or maybe that was just my fucking affliction.

I give her points on the text size because I can read the shit and not strain. I give her points on the lay out and easy seperation of her sidebar stuff. God bless her for not bludgeouning us with blood curdling flashers... I found it tasteful and clean. Organized and well placed. Good job on pulling off the purple and your obvious OCD on your sidebars.

You had an Author About page that made me cream. It didn't have to be formatted and shit to impress. Although I think it would be good to see it formatted a little more to please, I think you're going to find that knack and master it. You're fucking funny and I love your attitude... Moving on....

From what I understand of Christine is she's a military wife (duh) with two kids, who takes her day to day and complex issues in a manner that's earthy and sarcastic. I can relate to that.

She writes as she wants when she wants about life topics such as living on base and being married to the USAF, or this:

Today my daughter lost her first tooth- and she cried for 45 minutes- grieving the loss of her tooth. She even went so far as to say she was going to miss it, because the tooth fairy is going to take it away.
Through the luck of life- I was also fortunate enough to capture the first time my daughter told me to screw off by giving me the finger. How many moms have a picture like THAT for their scrapbook?




The style of her journaling is captivating to me and really puts a 'no bullshit' spin on her writing when she 'goes'. It looks like she's just getting started since she only has been blogging since April of 2006 (or that's as far back as my dumbass could navigate). But I plan on staying tuned and reading some really great shit from her in the future now that I've enjoyed a bit of her past.

Sometimes you hope that there's a blog you can tear apart. But I'm sorry I can't talk shit about this one. She's doing it right... Clean template, clear concise relation in her verbeyance, a little bit of humor and a smidge of heart.

Eventually she'll "bone" up the template, but for now it really works for her. I have no doubt as she lays there recovering from her surgery that she's reading html and css workbooks right now - and she'll kick all our asses in fact.
